Reversed waste collection

Reversed waste collection (or alternatively: low frequency waste collection) represents a newly developed way of waste collection and public awareness.

The principle is that only those materials will be collected door-to-door which are recyclable.  Residual waste should be collected in Underground Bins (or in an ultra low frequency, such as 1 x 4 weeks, 1 x 8 weeks or even less often.

The results of this new collection scheme are spectacular, where it has been introduced.

Below is a figure where the connection is made between the amount of residual waste and the frequency of the residual waste collection:

By lowering the collection frequency citizens are ‘forced’ to think about their waste. This moves them to separate more into recyclables.

EnviPro: Environmental Professionals has already a broad experience with these both schemes and we would like to share our knowledge with you!
